DIVA - LOOKING FOR WHAT EXCITES HER!

Well the Diva is back on track.  After having a fun time here in the beautiful Caribbean Island of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.
  Last month was St. Croix's Food & Wine Experience, "Taste of St. Croix".  It is a week-long festival that is held every April.  This week long event  brings celebrity chefs, along with our  ownVirgin Island Chefs, and wine makers to St. Croix.  The St. Croix Foundation raises funds for community programs, and preserving our historic island.  This was the second year that I attended the event.  Sunset Barbecue on the Pier in (http://tasteofstcroix.com/)the town of Frederiksted, on Friday, and then Wine Tasting on Saturday night. Diva had fun.  Then the Diva was off to dinner the next week with a friend and we dined at one of our local restaurants also in Frederiksted, Sand Castle Sandcastleonthebeach on the beach.   My friend Eugene Petersen, (Doc) was on stage serenading us with his beautiful Caribbean tunes.  Eugene (Doc) can also be heard weekly on Fridays on AM 970 WSTX, local stations. (docpetersen.com)  His talk shows, are informative, community events, and bringing back old time memories.
   Looks like the month of May will have some wonderful events, for the Diva to do, and if your here in St. Croix or just visiting, please join us.    The Pirates are coming  - St. Croix Pirate Adventure May 24-26 3 day fun filled festival.Stcroixpiratesadventure.

I had the honor of participating library week joining "Oyoko", in reading
to the kids at Fort Frederik, " Oyoko" read her book "My Grandma Loves To Play".
You know the Diva needs her exercise, so of course join us for our two hour master class.  Lots to do have a birthday party coming up also, so I am off again.  But the Diva will be back next week with more fun,inspiration, and just plain old living life in the moment.........

Ok Diva's get off the couch and that chair behind the desk and start walking, or start doing Zumba.  What's it going to be?  Although I am retired, I still stay active.  Sometimes a little too active.  But that's another story for another day. Sitting too long during the day behind your desk, and then relaxing to look at a show on TV can increase your risk for diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic diseases.  And while some of us who do not  like going to the GYM, you can get up and walk.  A cool walk in the morning, walking your dog for instance, and also taking a evening stroll helps. When I retired I took off some weight, but I am seeing that I have to take off some more.  Doing Zumba helped with the first weight off, and eating pretty healthy helped also, but the Diva here likes to go out and meet her other Diva friends, and we like to to have our glass of Wine, as we sit back and have a good time.  I have got to shed these other po...

Summer's Vacation Ends

Well the Diva In The Caribbean is back! This past summer I have to say was a time for me to really sit back and relax.  I did some writing, traveling, kept up with Zumba, and now ready to explore some more events of our beautiful Caribbean Island of St. Croix. This past weekend end it was Aqua Zumba at the beautiful hotel resort Sand Castle On the Beach. http://www.sandcastleonthebeach.com/ .  Zumba Instructor Soni Felix, along with Zumba Instructor Evelyn Pena Felix, held their first Aqua Zumba Class.  It was great, we all had a wonderful time and are awaiting our next Aqua Zumba class.  These Divas not only provide Aqua Zumba, but they have regular Zumba classes each week at different locations on Island..  So if your visiting, and need to get a little extra exercise in you will enjoy their classes. Diva In The Caribbean -Embracing Culture

Welcome to Elle's Happy Mid-Week Happy Hour! The Diva of the Carribean... How is the week so far?  It is holy week, and some are camping out, and others like me, will just be chilling and enjoying the beauty of the Island.  Well this past week-end, this Diva had a wonderful time.  Concert at Fort Fredrik, in Frederiksted., with Dion Parson and the 21st Century Band.  St. Croix's Big Band, and local musicians, and singing.    Then on Saturday, was the Moko Jumbie exhibit, at the Steeple Museum in Christiansted.  Great exhibit, great work by all local artists.  Exhibit a must see. And then Sunday was,  ZUMBA , fantastic . Had a blast, and I feel good.  Had to rub down with my friend Bengay, but hey, I had a good workout.  Of course all my Diva friends were there, and my ZUMBA instructors, Evelyn, Sonsirez, Diane.
