Diva in The Carribean - Keeping It Real!
Whenever I go to my Zumba classes the word perseverance seems to come to mind. Trying to stay healthy is a must for all of us. I know for me I am keeping high blood pressure at bay, cholesterol and just trying to be healthy in the long run. My goal is to stay fit and healthy.
We pick up magazines and we see all these beautiful thin bodies, and we say hey, I want to look just like that. But I think we forget they are just pictures of models, who the magazine pays well to pose. But in truth we all are different shapes and sizes. But whatever your shape or size we all want to keep it moving, and that is what Zumba does too me. At first I was not losing the weight I thought I should of been losing, but I had to learn also to watch my eating habits and change the way I eat.
I am a chicken eater, and I love me some wings, my weakness. What I was not doing was taking skin off my chicken, and now I do more bake chicken, without the skin. Making modifications to my eating habits, I am seeing good results. I can fit into pants that was once oh so tight. I feel better, my cholesterol levels are down, my high blood pressure is down, and I just keep it real by moving. Days I do not do Zumba, I am walking. So in the long run, perseverance is my will to carry on. Staying the course for however long it takes, regardless if there are obstacles in the way. To pursue our goals we have to be steadfast and focused. be persistent with your task until it is completed. Relationships are tested, and life in itself is a test. We just have to be determined to succeed. We all want to see over night results, but the true fact is that if we need to make adjustments and incorporate them into our lifestyle. Remaining committed to taking care at the task at hand you will see results. So I am thankful for the gift of perseverance, it keeps me going. God help me these next two fridays, when I do the two hour master classes. Diva here in the Carribean will be persevering for sure...(.Zumbawithsonsirez@gmail.com 340-277-6472)
I am so proud of my beautiful Niece, at 21 years old she is growing into a beauty and well rounded young women. Our talk last night gave me some time to think, I knew this child from a baby, and today she is a grown up young lady, with a bright future ahead. As NeNe Lakes says on Atlanta Housewives, she is a Glam-mother, well, I am a Grown and Sexy Fabulous Aunt, and I hope that you will take time to think and keep in mind that relationships you have to work at. Communication is the key, and respect for each other. In life, we are faced with challenges, and you my dear go with your gut feelings, and confront the issues that are at forefront. Talk things over, and as difficult the situation may seem, stay steadfast and focused to accomplish the mission. If your reading this you know what to do. I am always here for you, no matter what your decisions, I will not love you any less. I am a proud Aunt, I take my Aunt job seriously just like my beautiful and Fabulous Aunts before me.
Just like we were the future, and we have grown older, wiser, our jobs now are to embrace our younger generation. Whether they are your grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, cousins, neighbors, it takes a village to raise a child. I think the most precious gifts we have is to embrace our youth and be supportive in their endeavors. We do not have to like every thing they do, but we can listen to them when they speak, we can encourage, we can respect them, just because your older, does not mean we know everything either, so we can learn from each other as well. We can be mentors.
Well Diva here in St. Croix, has to go. I have things to do, got to get my handmade soaps ready for Mothers day. See you next week.........
