Happy Mother's Day to All
Sunday May 12, we celebrate Mothers Day. This is the second time I am celebrating Mother's Day with out my Mom. My Mom passed February 12 2012. Do I miss her, yes. I think about her all the time. But I have good memories of her, and I carry them with me.
When I think about me, and how I miss my Mom, my thoughts, are on all the other Mothers on Mothers day, who have lost their children, sons, or daughters to gun violence, war, sickness. I think about those Mothers who recently are re-united with their daughters or sons, who have been missing and found. I think about the Mothers who have just given birth, and adopted their first child. I think about the women who cannot for what ever reason have children, but would have been a Mother figure to god children, nieces, nephews. I think about the mothers who, have children and cannot accept who they have become, or their sexual identity. I think about the so called Mom's who have mistreated their children, and missed out on opportunities to be a good Mom.
I also think about the children like myself and my brother, cousins, and friends who's Mom's have gone from this place called Earth. We are left to celebrate their life here with us, and share the memories.
I am blessed to have had a wonderful Mother who made my brother and I each feel special. She molded me to be the person that I am today. For me it was hard watching the women who gave me life, battle her illness. Although she did not know me at the end, I was glad to have had my Mom with me for the time that I had her. Some do not get to have their Mom's with them until adult-hood. Each day I think about what could I have done differently, after looking on helplessly at her decline. My Mom was 90 years old when she passed.
I wish each of you a blessed Mothers day. I hope that you will take time to cherish the memories that you have with your Mom. Because tomorrow is never promised to anyone of us. Live in the moment and let the past be just that the past, there will be good memories of the past as well as the bad, but it is what you do now that counts the most. Stop dwelling on the negative and work on doing more positive. Life is a journey, and mine up to this point has been a good one. ........
Peace and Happy Mother's Day
