The Importance To Support Our Local Community

Last month I tried my hand at acting.  Not that I am a actress or want to be, but I thought it would be fun, and also taking a active part in community involvement.  I met a cast of wonderful performers, who have been acting in community plays, and choreographers,  who  along with the Director have been doing this for years.  I came away with a profound respect to the cast, and all as a whole.
As a person who loves the Arts, Theater, writing for me is my passion.  As I was preparing to learn my parts for the play, a few thoughts entered my mind, as to why it is important to support our local community.
Many successful actors, directors, writers and choreographers have started their careers in performing, and writing for small town plays.  It brings entertainment to the community, providing  the community with enjoyment.  With the community attending the shows, and applauding gives the upcoming stars the positive feedback they need to continue their artistic pursuits.  Our young men and women in St. Croix  have- so much talent.  While I was doing this play I was a bit nervous, I am a behind the scenes person, but it brought me out of my comfort zone, and as old as I am, it boosted my confidence level.  Just imagine what it will do to our young upcoming rising stars.
Supporting your local Community Theater is not just for the cast members.  If you have a talent such as sewing, the costumes, painting, sound effects, Electricians, anyone can help by donating their time to helping community participation toward a great performance.  We all come away learning.
Everyone benefits from these community events.  Businesses can advertise in the programs, the community who attends gets to also see what local businesses are supporting the theater, and will be encouraged to not only support the business as well, but may want to contribute also.  They get to see what new businesses are now part of the community as well.  My Cousin the beautiful and talent Kamil, did a dance performance in New York City, this past week.  She is following her passion as well as being a aspiring dancer.  So   if you know of someone who has a passion for the Theatre, support them and encourage them to pursue their dream.  A Link to Havenhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=laja8uU2qBI&t=80
